The purpose of this position is to effectively assist in the life‑cycle management of ICT assets.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Ensure all asset accountability forms are completed and that all details are correct and accurate.
* Apply tools, techniques, and processes to update and maintain the asset register in a timely manner that enables accurate tracking and recording of asset details.
* Coordinate the proper collection of assets from ACT Government sites to other designated locations including supplier warehouses, for disposal.
* Contribute to the development of the rolling asset audit program and undertake regular audits in conjunction with client directorates.
* Assist with the development and amendment to Standard Operating and other procedures.
* Process customer enquiries, by effectively establishing and maintaining business relationships with ACT Government staff and suppliers.
* Create and deliver standard reports in accordance with stakeholder needs and conforming to agreed standards. Provide analysis to support asset management activities and aid decision‑making.
* This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.

Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge

* An understanding of, or experience in, maintaining a large‑scale accurate asset register in an ICT environment.
* Knowledge of, or the proven ability to quickly acquire knowledge in the use of, ITSM and asset management tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework would be advantageous.

* Well‑developed customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen to customers while demonstrating empathy and compassion.

* Effectively meet strict deadlines in a constantly changing environment, including the ability to work under varying levels of pressure.
* Demonstrated reliability, including the ability to adhere to strict schedules, understand and follow directions, policies, and procedures to complete tasks.
* Proven understanding of public service values covering ethical standards and a demonstrated self‑awareness, professionalism and a proven commitment to Respect, Equity and Diversity in the workplace and health and safety principles and practices.


Compliance Requirements / Qualifications

* This position does not require a pre‑employment medical.
* Driver's license class C is desirable.
* This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Notes: This is a temporary position available for a period of up to six months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and / or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
