Molecular Ecology Researcher
This is a role that requires a high level of expertise in molecular ecology, with the successful candidate leading experimental design, implementation and analyses to support genetic monitoring, baseline genomic investigations and genomic data management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Collaborating on scientific research and publications related to coral adaptation, genetic diversity and dispersal;
* Engaging with other programs and teams to build scientific synergies and linkages, and developing compatible field, molecular, bioinformatic and data storage procedures;
* Creating reproducible workflows and developing end-to-end field-to-genotype specimen and data handling procedures;
* Taking a leading role in scuba-based field work to support research.
As a molecular ecologist, you will be working closely with our team to advance our understanding of marine ecosystems and develop innovative solutions to address complex environmental issues.
We are looking for an experienced researcher who can provide leadership and guidance on complex projects, and who has a strong track record of publishing in top-tier scientific journals.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in molecular ecology or a related field, and will have significant experience in laboratory-based research, including molecular techniques such as PCR and sequencing.
