About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced medical receptionist who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys being the first point of contact for patients.
Responsibilities
* Managing front desk operations and greeting patients
* Answering and directing phone calls
* Booking and managing appointments
* Processing billings and Medicare claims
* Providing administrative support to GPs and clinical staff
* Managing patient enquiries with professionalism and empathy
* Maintaining strict confidentiality
* General administrative and reception duties
* Manage daily opening and closing routines of the practice, including unlocking/locking the premises, setting up the reception area, performing end‐of‐day shutdowns, and ensuring the building is secure
This position will commence at approximately 25-35 hours per week, with potential for increased hours as the practice grows. Hours include Monday–Friday 7:00 am–9:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am–6:00 pm, Sunday 8:30 am–5:30 pm.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration
* A sound understanding of Medicare and billing processes
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* The ability to prioritise and work efficiently in a busy environment
* Experience using Best Practice software (highly regarded)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
* A proactive and team-oriented attitude
