Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre (BANC) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation serving the Upper Blue Mountains. We provide a range of services including out of school hours care, NDIS services, and community engagement through our Neighbourhood Centre. Position Purpose
Reporting to the General Manager the successful applicant will provide administrative support to the Senior Management Team and the wider organisation; develop high quality promotional materials for events including newsletters, fliers and posters; maintain the website and produce company documents such as the Annual Report.
Engage our communities, maintain and develop BANC's online presence (Facebook and newsletter content) and profile in the sector, and provide appropriate and accessible information to our target audiences, coordinate communication systems, and manage Hall bookings while upholding our core vision, mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
* Executive administrative assistance to the GM and Coordinators
* Updating content and development of the website
* Desktop Publishing – promotional materials preparation
* Assisting with IT issues and social media – setting up new staff phones and laptops, maintaining password logs, liaising with suppliers, e.g. Commander and APACM.
* Creation of content, and sourcing of content from staff and the Board, to generate weekly Facebook posts, and newsletter content
* Planning and posting regular, relevant and engaging social content across social media platforms, and maintaining consistent scheduling of content
* Using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide monthly reports on metrics
* Engage with our online community in line with the Social Media Policy
* Creation and distribution of newsletters, including the monthly newsletter, and others as required
* Assist in maintaining accurate records of activities, participation, and outcomes, in accordance with BANC's policies and procedures.
* Maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment and source maintenance people as needed
* Attend meetings where required, prepare minutes, follow up on actions
* Manage the storage, access and updating of policies, procedures, and guidelines as set out by BANC, particularly regarding Work Health and Safety (WHS), Child Protection, and Privacy.
Preferred Skills And Qualifications
1. Qualifications & Experience:
* Relevant qualifications in Administration or equivalent experience
* Desktop publishing experience creating and posting social media and promotional content
* Document control capability
2. Skills:
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence with community members and other stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and improve administrative systems and processes
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on clear, respectful, and inclusive language.
* Competency in using Microsoft Office and other computer-based technology.
