As a Principal Ecologist at Biosis, you will hold a significant role within the Victorian Ecology Team, serving as a technical expert, project manager/director and client relationship manager.The role will report directly to the Manager- Ecology (Victoria).There is a strong emphasis on leadership, ownership and technical directorship of the Victorian Ecology team. As a Principal Ecologist, you will lead strategic proposals and projects by driving business development and undertaking due diligence assessments for new opportunities. As a technical leader, the role will ensure team cohesion, a key point of contact for technical advice, ongoing work for junior botanists and zoologists, and creating greater capabilities across the team through coaching and mentoring.In addition, as a Principal Ecologist, you will take on responsibility for other key tasks to continue to guide and develop the technical capabilities of the Victorian Ecology Team, including:Completing regular reviews of reports/outputs for the delivery of high-quality workAttend fieldwork where high level expertise is required, or for provision of training/coachingAttending panel hearings and providing expert evidenceBusiness Development and networkingMaintaining key client relationshipsWorking closely with the Victorian Ecology team to achieve their goals and productivity targets and to generate ongoing work for the teamYou will play a pivotal role in driving growth and business development of the Victorian Ecology team by:Assisting the Biosis leadership team with setting the strategic direction of the Victorian Ecology teamLeading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projectsLeveraging existing client and regulator relationships and build new relationships to secure workUnderstanding opportunities, track strategic and large opportunities and manage long-lead opportunitiesWorking closely with our business development leads and marketing lead on sales, business development and marketing requirements to grow our presence in Victoria Our offer Biosis prides itself on having a supportive and progressive workplace culture.
