Job Summary
Executive Level 2 Upper, Ongoing. $154,800 – $165,263, plus an additional 15.4% superannuation. Locations: Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney.
The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Operational Technology & Engineering Manager. This is a key leadership position within the Observing Systems and Operations Program, providing specialist advice, direction and guidance on the observing infrastructure architecture and equipment.
Responsibilities
The Operational Technology Lead manages a diverse team of specialists responsible for the development and design of engineering and technological solutions. The solutions include level three support across a range of technologies spanning radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to dedicated observations, and satellites to ships at sea to meet business needs.
The Lead actively engages with industry and stakeholders, including the science and engineering communities, to continuously improve observation infrastructure. The Lead establishes capability, strategy and methods for providing the required observations for Bureau services.
The position works closely with teams in Infrastructure Development and National Operations of the Observing Systems and Operations Program, along with other business areas of the organization, to develop these capabilities.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in engineering planning and delivery. They will also possess advanced stakeholder management capabilities, strong management skills, and the ability to distil significant issues from complex material to develop workable solutions to problems.
