We are seeking an experienced and detail‐oriented Finance Officer to join our client's team in a diverse role that combines payroll, accounts payable, and broader finance support responsibilities.

Full‐Time | Permanent Opportunity

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of payroll across multiple states, administration of the HRIS, management of the accounts payable function, and providing support across other finance activities including accounts receivable, reconciliations, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & HRIS

* Manage end‐to‐end payroll processing across multiple Australian states.
* Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS.
* Process new starters, terminations, leave requests, salary changes, and payroll adjustments.
* Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, awards, Fair Work requirements, and company policies.
* Prepare and lodge payroll tax and WorkCover returns.
* Administer salary packaging and novated lease arrangements.
* Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll reports.
* Respond to payroll enquiries and provide support to employees and managers.

Accounts Payable

* Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt through to payment.
* Verify, code, and process supplier invoices.
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
* Prepare and process payment runs.
* Maintain supplier records and vendor relationships.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments and employee expense claims.

General Finance Support

* Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable functions.
* Assist with month‐end reporting and reconciliations.
* Prepare journals and support general ledger maintenance.
* Assist with finance administration and reporting requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.

About You

You are a meticulous, organised, and discreet professional who enjoys working across multiple finance functions. You possess strong payroll expertise, solid accounts payable experience, and a commitment to delivering accurate outcomes while maintaining confidentiality.

Skills & Experience

* Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
* Minimum 3–4 years' direct experience processing end‐to‐end payroll, including HRIS administration.
* Minimum 2 years' experience managing a full‐cycle Accounts Payable function.
* Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, payroll tax obligations, WorkCover requirements, and accounting principles.
* Previous experience working within a Finance department.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and formulas.
* Experience using Kronos or a similar payroll platform.
* Experience managing payroll tax and WorkCover lodgements across multiple Australian states.
* Experience administering salary packaging and novated lease arrangements.
* Sound understanding of award interpretation and Fair Work compliance.
* Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Problem‐solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.
