**Job Description:**
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced lawyer who is passionate about working with women and children affected by domestic and family violence. You will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation in civil and criminal law matters, representing clients in courts and tribunals, delivering legal support to criminalized women, and working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver wraparound services.
**Responsibilities:**
Providing legal advice and representation in civil and criminal law mattersRepresenting clients in courts and tribunalsDelivering legal support to criminalized womenWorking collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary teamUndertaking outreach travel to bush courts and remote communitiesAssisting with logistics and delivery of community legal education and outreach eventsSupporting and contributing to law reform, advocacy and community legal educationParticipating in stakeholder and community engagementMaintaining legal files, compliance and reporting for regulatory obligations
**Requirements:**
A Bachelor of LawsPractising Certificate in the Northern TerritoryExperience in civil or criminal lawUnderstanding of DFV and trauma-informed practiceKnowledge of general civil law matters, particularly Domestic and Family ViolencePrior experience in Community Legal Centres and familiarity with the CLASS databaseStrong understanding of legal, economic, and social issues affecting women in Central AustraliaConfidence working independently and collaboratively in a small, cross-functional teamA commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, WHS awareness, and compliance with policiesStrong communication, time management, and legal file management skillsEmpathy, resilience, and a deep commitment to empowering women to live safely, free from violence and discriminationNT Driver's LicenceOchre CardNational Police Check
