Introduction:
We are seeking a permanent, part time (0.4 FTE) Learning Support Teacher to join our Dynamic Learning - Gosford campus to commence on 18 May or by negotiation!
St Philip's Christian College Dynamic Learning offers a tailored learning program for children and young individuals diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and/or Autism (Level 1 & 2). Description:
Focus of the Position:
To assist the Head of Campus, Learning Support Coordinator and Class Teacher on issues concerning the learning needs of students at their campus.
General Responsibilities:
* Direct the Learning Support Assistant in running Literacy/Numeracy small groups at their campus, in consultation with the Learning Support Coordinator and HOC;
* Liaise with Class Teachers, Learning Support Coordinator and Head of Campus on issues concerning the learning needs of students at their campus;
* Manage and implement the Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Schedule at their campus including whole school assessments and new enrolment screening;
* Consult with Learning Support Coordinator to provide disability provisions for Minimum Standards attempts. In consultation with class teachers, run Minimum Standards attempts for their campus as test supervisors;
* Consult with HOC on disability provisions for NAPLAN and assist in NAPLAN test supervision;
* Keep records of academic achievement and provide feedback to class teachers and Head of Campus to inform quality teaching practice. Enter whole school testing results onto MySPCC and TASS;
* Create and maintain Individual Literacy/Numeracy Programs. Upload Individual Programs to MySPCC and TASS;
* Provide the Learning Support Assistant with small group Literacy/Numeracy programs and guide the Learning Support Assistant in delivering these programs. Assist the Learning Support Assistant in documenting support provided in Individual Literacy/Numeracy programs;
* Create a Learning Support timetable in consultation with the Learning Support Coordinator, which includes in-class support assisting class teachers in providing adjustments and differentiation for Learning Support students, and withdrawal sessions for intervention for Tier 3 students with more complex needs. Upload timetable to MySPCC Learning Support at the start of each term;
* Have the role of campus admin for Spelling Mastery, Maths Pathway and Mathletics. Support class teachers in their implementation of these teaching programs;
* Complete PM Benchmarking for their campus and advise class teachers of instructional reading levels for their classes;
* As directed by HOC, assist in supervising activities such as connect groups, chapel, extra-curricular activities and playground duties;
* All employees are responsible for ensuring the workplace is free from sexual harassment and must not engage in any behaviour that puts the health and safety of another employee at risk, this includes, but is not limited to, behaviours that constitute sexual harassment;
* Any other reasonable direction that is within the limits of your skills, competence, training and/or experience as given by your supervisor;
* Taking part in School community activities will involve you in the application of discipline, participation in the School's program for spiritual and pastoral care and various other duties. Some of the duties may need to be performed at times outside of your normal classroom teaching hours, including during non- Term time, on weekends or public holidays.
