About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technical Trade Trainer to deliver and develop high‐quality training for Mechanical Apprentices and Mechanical Tradespeople. This role plays a vital part in supporting workforce capability through hands‐on instruction, assessment, and mentoring in a dynamic and safety‐focused environment.

Responsibilities

* Deliver approved technical trade training packages to apprentices and tradespeople.
* Develop and maintain training plans, packages and supporting documentation.
* Supervise and mentor training groups and individuals.
* Draft apprentice progress reports and contribute to skills development evaluations.
* Ensure compliance with WH&S regulations and maintain a safe training environment.

About you

* Holds a minimum Cert III in Engineering (Mechanical) trade certification.
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment preferable.
* Minimum 10 years of trade experience, ideally in heavy engineering or shipbuilding.
* Strong communication and report writing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in managing technical documentation.
* Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and initiative.
* Effective team player with the ability to motivate and support others.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
