About the role

We are looking for Mechanical maintainers to safely maintain and improve our track machines assets from Tampers, Regulators and Mobile Flash Butts. These machines are an integral part of the track maintenance division at Rio Tinto.

You will play a key role in identifying defects and providing feedback on asset performance and health through our asset management system, actively raising notifications and completing work orders. Additionally, you will support the defect elimination process and contribute to work management analysis and asset tactics reviews to enhance overall asset performance. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring that work management activities are executed in accordance with job instructions and undertaking post-maintenance equipment commissioning and clean-up.

With roles based in our workshops we offer a lifestyle and roster to suit you. The roles are FIFO offering a family friendly 8 days on 6 days off roster

What you'll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

- A strong commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team

- Current manual 'C' Class Driver's License

- Heavy Duty Diesel Trade certificate – Mechanical or Fitting

- Excellent communication skills, and proven ability to interact with all levels of personnel.

- Strong background in mobile mining or rail equipment repairs and maintenance

- Able to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently

- Sound understanding of hydraulic principles

Highly desirable if you have the following:

- HR Drivers License

- RTIO inductions

- Previous rail experience on Plasser - Tampers Regulators, Vaia Car - Welders

- Knowledge of computer programs including SAP
