About Central Queensland Mental Health Acute Overnight Detention Service
Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol-related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda, and Central Highlands districts, as well as adult patients of the Central West Hospital and Health Service.
The service area covers a population exceeding 250,000 people. Our principal service centre is Rockhampton, which provides medical coverage, professional supervision, and administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, support for accreditation and implementation of programs, as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams.
Role Description
The Registrar or Principal House Officer (Psychiatry) position offers high-quality medical services to consumers within CQMHAODS, adhering to National Standards for Mental Health Services and other policies and protocols within the service.
For RANZCP Registrars in training, this role will be performed according to the requirements of the training program.
Your Responsibilities
* You must hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification, enabling registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* If your qualifications were obtained outside Australia, you must be eligible for AHPRA registration with Level 3 supervision and provide:
o Evidence of successful completion of an AHPRA-recognised English Language test within the last year.
o Evidence of successful completion of the AMC MCQ (Part 1) examination (if registering via the Standard Pathway).
o Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current references.
* You must hold Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
* A current AHPRA general registration and a minimum of two years' practice within the Australian healthcare system are preferred.
o Experience and qualifications in Psychiatry are highly regarded.
What We Offer
Total remuneration value of up to $172,382 per annum includes:
* A salary rate between $129,583 and $142,727 per annum (L4-L7)
* A salary rate between $129,583 and $150,240 per annum (L4-L9)
