As a casual English Teacher, you will have your regular classes each week (from 4:30pm on weekdays and from 9:00am on weekends), and have the opportunity to pick up substitute teaching shifts. All lessons and assessments are prepared for you, so there is minimal preparation required. What you’ll do… Teaching regular weekly classes throughout the academic term. Ongoing monitoring of student’s academic progress through marking weekly essay submissions. Flagging of struggling students to academic team leaders for additional academic mentoring. What you’ll need… Possess a genuine passion for teaching. Previous experience teaching secondary English in a classroom setting. Have extensive knowledge of the current Victorian curriculum in stage 4, 5 and 6 English. Have completed their degree in Education, Arts, Philosophy or a related discipline.
