**The client**
Our client is the largest brain research group in the Southern Hemisphere researching a range of serious diseases including stroke, epilepsy, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and motor neurone diseases, depression and addiction. This institution are world leaders and continue to provide scientist and students with world class facilities.
**The opportunity**
Reporting to the Head of HR, as HR Business Partner you will form a critical part of a small HR team in this business partnering role where you will be responsible for managing a dedicated portfolio comprising of the Executive and Research teams. As a true HR generalist, you will demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders providing specialist HR advice and support, have sound IR knowledge as you will be required to manage complex grievances in this autonomous role providing a first-class experience on behalf of the organisation.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Being first point of contact for employees and managers for all people related matters;
- Managing and executing the HR and talent strategy as it relates to current & future talent needs;
- Supporting the development of the organisational learning and development strategy;
- Providing expert HR advice and guidance to senior leaders in relation to complex matters;
- Managing and conducting formal performance management and investigations as required; and
- Developing and reviewing policies, objectives and strategies in line with the institutes strategic direction.
**About you**
To be the successful HRBP you will have considerable experience in a similar role with a degree in HR or similar. You will utilise your strong knowledge of HR management principles, relevant legislation and best practice. You will display strong capabilities in decision making, coaching and conflict resolution with the ability to influence. Well defined communication skills both written and verbal are essential. Using your proven experience in high level consultation and negotiation skills coupled with your expertise in establishing priorities and delivering results to meet deadlines will position you for success.
