About the role We have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator to be part of our Hosting Platform, Technology and Communications Services Command.
The Systems Administrator supports service delivery to the organisation in the management of IT computer systems.
Key Responsibilities Manage, monitor and enhance the performance of Linux RedHat based applications Plan and implement new physical and virtualised systems Upgrade, patch and refresh programs using Satellite Configure and utilise automation tools such as Ansible Playbooks and Automation Platform Provide systems and scripting support to application development and operational groups Candidate will work with ITIL best practice, have good and up to date knowledge of RHEL v8+, container orchestration skills, an understanding of networks, firewalls and certificates Participate in team rotation of oncall roster Security: Ensuring compliance with security policies within environment, protecting sensitive data and systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience 3+ years intensive hands on (preferred Redhat), understanding of selinux, lvm, sudo, ldap and so on.
Monitoring and Observability: Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Solarwind, Nagio.
Networking: Understanding of services, routes, SSL certificates, firewalls.
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like ansible, Bash for automating tasks and managing infrastructure.
Problem Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues RHEL VMs and find effective solutions.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams.
