Job Title: Communications and Engagement Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Communications and Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing effective communications plans for important events and significant project milestones in the Victoria Daly Region.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages that resonate with diverse audiences. You will work closely with our community-facing teams to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, source and produce high-quality content for key publications and communications, and draft media statements as required.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement communications strategies to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
* Create engaging content for various channels, including social media, press releases, and newsletters.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local communities, organizations, and government agencies.
* Draft and disseminate accurate and timely information through various channels.
This is a remote, flexible role, allowing applicants to work from Katherine or remotely. Regular travel to remote communities in the region is required to build relationships and cover events.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Excellent Communication Skills:
* Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
* Ability to craft compelling messages and stories.
* Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Able to analyze data and trends to inform communications decisions.
* Ability to think critically and creatively to resolve complex problems.
