We are seeking passionate individuals ready to bring their skills to some of the most beautiful and remote parts of Northern Australia. About your next role

Reporting to the General Manager of Community Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to empower First Nations people through impactful community engagement and program delivery.

* Develop, implement, and refine ALPA's Community Engagement Strategy and project milestones
* Oversee the successful execution of the Community Care Program and ensure all initiatives are delivered on time and within budget
* Provide end-to-end leadership for a high-performing team, offering coaching, mentoring, and structured development
* Build and maintain robust relationships with community stakeholders to amplify ALPA's outreach
* Facilitate interdepartmental meetings to ensure organizational cohesion and effective issue escalation
* Manage departmental metrics and financial performance, ensuring data informs all strategic decision-making
* Model proactive safety leadership across all programs and remote travel contexts

What you will need to bring

* A tertiary qualification in Community Services, Business, or Leadership, or a minimum of 3 years' experience in senior leadership
* Extensive experience in the delivery of community services and a strong understanding of First Nations people and Yolŋu communities
* Proven track record in building relationships and advocating on behalf of an organization to benefit its members
* Demonstrated experience in the application, delivery, and acquittal of government grants and contracts
* Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, cost control, and income generation
* Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills for strategic reporting and stakeholder engagement
* Advanced digital literacy in Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, and data reporting tools
* A logical and systematic approach to problem-solving and process improvement

Mandatory Requirements

* Willingness and ability to travel to remote communities via 4WD or small light aircraft (weight limit of 140kg applies for aviation safety)
* Ability to pass relevant background checks and clearances required for working in remote Indigenous communities
