* Level 5, $80,236 - $90,420 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
* Full-time (36.25 hours per week), ongoing appointment

The Opportunity

In this role, you will champion the participation, success, and well‐being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. You will guide prospective students in making informed study and career choices, while delivering and monitoring initiatives that empower students to progress through preparatory, undergraduate, and postgraduate pathways. Based at the Sunshine Coast campus, the Community and Future Students Officer will provide direct support to students and communities, working closely with Schools and University teams to achieve key operational goals. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing student success and creating positive, inclusive experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

You will

* Engage the Community and Future Students and University teams to grow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander access and participation;
* Deliver activities in support of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement and Education Plans across the UniSC footprint; and
* Contribute to Buranga Centre's planning processes, working parties and committees as a key member of the Community and Future Students role.

About you

You have extensive experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, supporting educational engagement and success. You excel at leading small teams, fostering a goal‐focused culture, and delivering programs that empower students to achieve. Highly organised and proactive, you can work independently or collaboratively, prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgement. You communicate clearly, prepare accurate reports, and are confident using corporate systems and digital tools, with a strong understanding of the Australian higher education sector.

You will possess:

* Persons employed at level 5 will typically perform duties at a skill level that assumes and requires knowledge or training equivalent to:
* completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience, or
* completion of an associate diploma and at least two (2) years of subsequent relevant work experience, or
* completion of a post trades certificate or advanced certificate and extensive relevant experience as a technician, or
* an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education / training
* Experience in managing small teams and establishing and maintaining a goal‐focused and strong team culture;
* Extensive experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities to meet their educational, cultural and engagement needs;
* Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and promote programs and initiatives that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to succeed in their educational endeavours;
* Well‐developed interpersonal and organisational skills, including the ability to:
* work independently and as part of a team.
* interact successfully with a wide range of people.
* prioritise and meet deadlines.
* maintain confidentiality of information.
* use initiative and independent judgment.
* Demonstrated verbal and written skills with the ability to draft and develop accurate reports and documentation for management;
* A thorough understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector.
