About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic
Media and Communications professional
to join us on a part-time basis for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role will lead the execution of our communications and media engagement strategy. This role is pivotal in amplifying e61's work, strengthening our brand, and engaging diverse audiences through compelling content and media outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with e61's mission.
Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets.
On a periodic basis, draft and distribute media releases, pitches, and op-eds to maximise reach of our research and events.
Collaborate with the research team and senior leadership to create high-quality, innovative content for our weekly newsletter and social media.
Manage social media channels and optimise engagement.
About You
A degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in media relations and strategic communications, ideally in policy, research, or government sectors.
Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify technical content.
Strong understanding of the Australian policy landscape and economic issues.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics, and social media management.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
An energetic self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Additional Information
This role is a part-time role for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is 3 days per week, but we are open to 2 days per week for the right candidate.
