**District Mechanical Officer Role**
We are looking for a qualified motor mechanic to join our team as a District Mechanical Officer. This is a challenging opportunity that requires the right candidate to carry out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications in a clean environment to well-maintained fleet assets.
You will work in a workshop base, and across Northwest Victoria from the hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. All tools and equipment are supplied including uniform and PPE.
After an initial probationary period, the successful candidate may progress from one grade level to another and receive a salary increase.
The role involves:
* Under the direction of the workshop manager, carrying out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and approved modifications to fleet assets.
* Ensuring fleet assets are maintained in accordance with appropriate industry standards and relevant procedures.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation on work performed.
* Liaison with team members regarding proposed work and work performed.
* Maintaining reporting to the manager on maintenance, administrative and technical matters.
* Ensuring that Industrial Safety Standards are observed.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and skills:
* A Motor Mechanic Qualification and Heavy Rigid Driver Licence (note: Heavy Rigid drivers' licence can be obtained within time frames set out by the employer if not held).
* Proven ability to maintain safety at an Incident Scene and render assistance to others (First Aid L2) (note: this can be obtained within the timeframes set out by the employer if not held).
* Furthermore, you will have proven ability to work as part of a team and actively participate in team discussions.
