About the role
We are seeking a Maintenance and Gardening Officer to join our team of committed and passionate professionals to provide a range of high quality gardening and maintenance services to older people living in their own homes in the south western metropolitan community.
This will mean you will perform general garden maintenance activities such as (but not limited to):
* Basic landscaping to ensure safety of clients
* Lawn mowing
* Tree & shrub pruning and weeding
* Removing of garden rubbish
* Basic irrigation
* Basic planting
* Eliminating pests
This role requires people who are excellent communicators who have a positive attitude/friendly nature with a flexible approach that enables you to build lasting relationships based on trust and commitment with all stakeholders, our clients, their families and members of your team.
We want people who:
* Have proven demonstrable skills and experience in the provision of gardening services
* Are responsible and well organised approach to work with the demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and tasks
* Have genuine empathy and respect for and ability to work with older people and their family/carers
* Are understanding of and compliance with confidentiality requirements
* Are reliable, honest and trustworthy
* Have the ability to complete documentation reliably and in a timely manner
* Have the proven ability to work independently without close supervision
* Have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
* Have a basic understanding of the needs and strengths of older people
* Demonstrate Knowledge in Safe Work Practice
To be considered for this role you must:
* Be prepared to undertake a police background check and a functional assessment (Provided by us)
* Hold a Current SA Drivers Licence
* First Aid Certificate (can obtain on job)
