High-Performance Mechanical Design Engineer.
Be a key member of our engineering team and contribute to designing, constructing, and implementing enterprise data centres that meet global quality and performance standards. You will work directly with design engineering stakeholders, construction, operations, and commissioning teams within the APAC region.
As a High-Performance Mechanical Design Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to drive successful project delivery while maintaining the highest performance standards. You will evaluate cooling systems using in-depth CFD knowledge to make data-driven decisions aligned with our guidelines. Additionally, you will utilize innovation to reduce PUE, water consumption, and CAPEX while increasing efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
* Evaluating cooling systems using in-depth CFD knowledge to make data-driven decisions
* Driving successful project delivery while maintaining the highest performance standards
* Utilizing innovation to reduce PUE, water consumption, and CAPEX
* Developing mechanical documentation, including narratives, drawings, specifications, etc.
* Driving process improvements across the organization
* Performing building energy use calculations for determining capacity and type of cooling system required
* Performing CFD models on innovative and next-generation designs
* Providing reports to senior leadership on the results of those models
* Performing water efficiency use calculations to determine quantity of water needed on site
* Coordinating with construction and commissioning teams to answer requests for information
* Working with global ME teams to achieve alignment of design and CFD modeling standards
* Developing special projects and assisting senior engineers with detailed calculations for special projects
* This position will involve travel (20%)
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* 5 years experience with Sigma Six or HELYX CFD modeling software
* Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering
* Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories, and concepts in mechanical engineering
* 8 years experience in designing HVAC systems
