Plants Whitsundays are currently looking to recruit experienced and qualified Flower Grower to join their team in Cannon Valley QLD.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Implementing growing plans to ensure delivery in full and on time can be achieved Sign off on all plants that are being dispatched from the nursery.
- Oversee preparation of daily water, fertigation and spray programs and product movement.
- Develop and implement preventative and reactive spray plans.
- Continuous monitoring of plant health to ensure the nursery is free of disease, grubs, pests and other threats.
- Ensure the standard grow profile in regards to watering/EC/disease and insect control is followed.
- Raise any plant health/specification issues to Nursery Manager.
- Manage all chemicals required for the production growing process.
- Other reasonable duties as directed by the Nursery Manager
- May train and supervise staff
Skills and Abilities:
- Qualifications in Horticulture, Agronomy, Ag Science or similar discipline and /or significant experience in a large horticultural production facility.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and commitments and an ability to work under pressure.
- People management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement growing processes with minimal guidance.
- Possess an ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing leadership and coordination in a complex environment.
- Well developed written and oral communications skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise successfully experience in managing and developing people both as direct reports and indirectly - to influence business outcomes.
Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
