The opportunity
As a Senior Planner/Planner you will report into the E&U Planning Manager & Services Manager working across iconic water infrastructure bids and projects. You will be responsible for preparing, maintaining and monitoring schedules for the program and projects. This is a full‐time permanent role and will be based out of our Melbourne office with flexible/hybrid working. You will also be required to travel to site when required.
What you'll do
* Prepare resource and cost loaded detailed project delivery schedules, for allocated projects/work packages, using past construction knowledge and experience that accurately reflect the conditions of the contract, design and specifications.
* Maintain and update the project master schedule, where applicable, incorporating subcontract schedules, to ensure appropriate execution of work package plans are completed as required.
* Ensure compliance with Downer's standards and requirements as set by Utilities Performance Commercial & Risk Team, in terms of Schedule Quality and Change Management.
* Perform delay analysis as needed by the Contract and support with suitable narrative.
* Manage/undertake, review and analyse sub-contractor schedules to confirm alignment with good scheduling practice and Downer standards and requirements.
* Assist in the development of project practices and procedures.
* Undertake reporting requirements of internal and external stakeholders.

What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualification - Degree, or equivalent, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management or Project Management preferred
* 10+ years site construction experience on water projects
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of CPM scheduling concepts and delay analysis techniques
* Previous commercial experience planning and scheduling for small and large projects using Primavera P6 (essential) or Microsoft Project (used predominantly for subcontract program management).
* Microsoft Visio knowledge and working experience
* Certifications/Competence on Primavera P6 Scheduling tool (Required)
