QER is developing a major energy project critical to Australia's future fuel security and quality of life. Seeking to replace fuel imports with Australian made heavy transport fuel responsibly sourced from Queensland's rich kerogen resources, we have established a robust base-case project design and are integrating a range of innovative project enhancements to securely position the project for the future.
Reporting to the Director, Resources & Environment, you will develop expert knowledge in the geology, characteristics and nuances of kerogen deposits, working closely with multidisciplinary Geological, Mining Engineering, Processing, and Environmental experts to advance our knowledge of the relationship between geology, mining and processing to ultimately inform the best way to develop the deposits.
As the successful candidate, you will be smart, energetic, passionate about your craft, and be able to work well with and build lasting positive relationships with other people. You will possess a Bachelor's (and / or Master's) degree in Geology, Earth Science or related fields and have around 3-5 years' experience in geological fieldwork, and analysis, preferably in sedimentary type deposits. Experience in geological/geophysical interpretation and modelling using Vulcan or similar computer software packages coupled with prior exposure to Mine Planning, GIS, CAD drafting software, statistical analysis, file manipulation, data logging would be beneficial.
