As a Casual ECC Vet Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing timely and compassionate care. This position involves working in a fast‐paced environment where quick thinking, excellent communication skills, and a passion for emergency and critical care are essential.
You'll join a friendly, experienced Emergency and Critical Care team in a state‐of‐the‐art facility, providing high‐quality emergency and critical care services to our community's beloved pets!
Responsibilities
* Casual role
* Provide high‐quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department
* Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments
* Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed
* Perform diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, X‐rays, and ultrasounds
* Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up‐to‐date
* Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan
* Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
Requirements
* Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting
* Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures
* Ability to remain calm and focused in high‐pressure situations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate and empathetic towards both animals and their owners
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
