This opportunity sits with a growing South-East Queensland civil contractor delivering residential and industrial subdivisions and associated urban civil infrastructure, typically as principal contractor across $1M-$15M projects.
With a secured pipeline, particularly in the Toowoomba region, the business is expanding its site leadership team to support growth while protecting delivery standards.
This is a deliberate hire for a capable Civil Site Manager who wants autonomy, trust, and the ability to genuinely shape how projects are run within a practical, low-ego team focused on doing the job properly.
The Role
* Manage daily site operations, crews, subcontractors, and plant
* Read and interpret construction plans and specifications
* Implement project programs and short-term look-aheads
* Maintain and update a two-week lookahead program in conjunction with the Project Manager
* Coordinate materials, deliveries, and on-site resources
* Run prestarts, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
* Implement and maintain safety and environmental systems and compliance
* Monitor quality and ensure works are delivered to specification
* Inspect completed work and implement corrective actions where required
* Liaise with Project Managers regarding progress, risks, and resourcing
* Manage site-level procurement and material ordering
* Identify and elevate design, scope, or sequencing issues early
* Maintain site documentation, records, and reporting
* Mentor and support junior construction staff
* Resolve on-site issues or disputes as required
Projects are primarily delivered one at a time, with occasional overlap during ramp-up or close-out.
The Offer
* $130,000 - $180,000 + Super (dependent on experience and capability)
* Package inclusive of vehicle, fuel, and phone
* Option to use your own vehicle with a circa $7.5k allowance in lieu of company vehicle
* Performance incentive structure (details discussed with shortlisted candidates)
* Mon - Fri delivery focus (weekend work is the exception, not the norm)
* Long-term role within a contractor experiencing steady growth
* Support for Toowoomba-based work arrangements where required
What Winning Looks Like
* Sites operating safely and compliantly at all times
* Projects delivered to program and quality expectations
* Strong, consistent site leadership
* Minimal rework and avoidable delays
* Clear communication with Project Managers and Operations
* Positive contribution to team culture and stability
You
* Proven experience as a Civil Site Manager, Foreman, or Supervisor
* Background in civil construction, ideally urban or subdivision environments
* Strong understanding of civil sequencing, productivity, and coordination
* Confidence reading and interpreting civil drawings and specifications
* Experience managing subcontractors and direct crews
* Sound knowledge of civil safety and environmental requirements
* Comfort balancing hands-on site leadership with required site-based administration
* Plant operating capability advantageous, not essential
