We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical and HVAC systems across a range of commercial and industrial projects. The role involves developing compliant, efficient system designs, performing technical assessments, and preparing accurate cost estimates to support project tendering and execution.

Task & responsibilities

- Review architectural and engineering plans to develop mechanical and HVAC system solutions.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/pipe sizing aligned with Australian Standards.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for HVAC and mechanical projects based on design and specifications.
- Assess materials, equipment, and labour requirements to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Liaise with consultant engineers, builders, and project managers to clarify technical requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and contractors on mechanical and ventilation systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, schedules, and engineering-related paperwork.
- Ensure all designs, calculations, and quotations comply with building codes, Australian Standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform any other engineering duties reasonably assigned by the employer.

Qualification & experience

- A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in HVAC design/estimation or similar engineering role.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in load calculations, equipment selection, and mechanical system design.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
