We are seeking an Experienced Hospital Social Worker based in Cairns. This full‐time position (38 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 07:30–15:36) ends 26th June.
Role Overview
The role focuses on a predominantly geriatric caseload, including navigation of services, MAC referrals, patient‐centred discharge planning, respite and permanent placement applications, as well as accommodation, food, service referrals and counselling for younger HITH patients.
Team
* 11 allied health staff: AHAs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, dietitian.
* HP4 level role; a HP3 social worker FTE.
* Locum rates are $80–$86 per hour + super + living away from home allowance.
* Travel reimbursed up to $1,000.
* No accommodation provided; allowance of up to $170 per night (organise yourself).
* Driving licence required; staff use our fleet vehicles for home visits within 50km radius of our community centre (Palm Cove to Gordonvale).
