Purchasing Officer

Part time – 35 hours

City Mission is looking for a motivated and highly organised Purchasing Officer to join our City Operations team.

The purchasing officer is required to manage the volunteer staff and operations. Including the ordering and arranging delivery of supplies for all City Mission operations along with oversight and co-ordination of donations to the site – both food and other items.

The position requires the employee to develop working relationships with suppliers, the general public and other external stakeholders, management, peers and other functional areas within the organisation

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

* Minimum 3 years experience in purchasing, or similar, role for a medium to large business.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Experience with MS Office suite especially Excel.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team and provide training.
* Ability to prioritise responsibilities and maintain an organised and tidy environment.
* Physical ability to move boxed items including donations and cages.
* Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Pre-employment Medical Assessment is required for all Warehouse, Supply Chain & Circular Economy roles.
* National Police Check is required for all roles.
* Registration to Work with Vulnerable People is required for all roles.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

* Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.
* Experience working with a volunteer workforce.
* WHS training and/or awareness.
* Current drivers licence.

Salary will be based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. As a Public Benevolent Institution, LCM employees are eligible to Salary Package through our approved provider.
