About The Role
We are looking for a passionate Project Lead - Waste Data Optimisation to drive a transformative initiative that sets a new benchmark for data integrity and governance across Council's waste services. In this role, you will lead a critical project to review, clean, and align data across multiple systems, ensuring a single, trusted source of truth. You will have the opportunity to shape robust governance frameworks, correct historical inaccuracies, and deliver meaningful improvements that benefit our community.

A Little More About The Role
* Lead end-to-end delivery of the Waste Data Optimisation project, including planning, budget tracking, risk management, and reporting to senior leadership.
* Validate project scope, resourcing and governance arrangements, providing formal recommendations on the final delivery approach.
* Establish and embed a data governance framework to ensure waste data quality, integrity, and long-term business-as-usual ownership.
* Provide technical leadership on waste data standards, quality improvement processes, and the analysis, cleansing and validation of data across multiple systems.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating workshops to define data requirements, map processes, and resolve legacy data issues.
* Drive analysis and continuous improvement by identifying insights, developing automated data quality reporting, and translating findings into actionable outcomes.

About You
What your experience might look like
* A relevant tertiary qualification in business information systems or analytics, or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience in system analytics.
* Demonstrated experience in end-to-end project management including scoping, planning, budget tracking, risk management, and reporting to senior leadership, preferably in the context of local government.
* Extensive knowledge of data mapping process, data relationships, and data structures.
* Experience and practical knowledge in the development and documentation of data mapping/data field structure, user requirements documentation, functional specification documents and technical specification documents.
* Understanding of technical systems such as SQL, ODBC, PowerBI, and Spatial databases.
* Demonstrated organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and work effectively in a high autonomous environment.
* Experience working in an agile environment, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams is desirable.
* Analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships and confidently communicate in a clear and concise manner.
* Experience leading a data collection or data quality program or team is highly desirable
