The Role
As part of that growth, a new opportunity (with limited interstate travel) has been created for an experienced Control Systems Engineer.
Based in Perth you will provide end‑to‑end control system design, development, commissioning and testing for assigned projects (typically circa $1-2m value per project).
Working autonomously and with a minimum of supervisions you will expertly investigate, analyse, design, programme and deliver control systems and configure bespoke HMIs for cutting‑edge automated and robotic solutions.
Additionally:
provide on‑site commissioning during new project delivery and on‑site support for existing solutions (limited travel per annum)
providing some after sales technical customer support, troubleshooting and remediation (on‑site or remove as appropriate)
work with in‑house mechanical & electrical engineering teams to ensure strong cross functional integration of solutions.
ensure that designs meet compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
About you
In addition to your tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or equivalent you have min.
2 years' experience in the detailed design and commissioning of control systems for industrial automation application (warehouse automation / intralogistics, parcel sortation, BHS, mining or other conveyored environment).
You can demonstrate (essential):
advanced knowledge of PLC configuration, programming and commissioning.
Siemens (preferred).
solid knowledge of electrical engineering and strong technical skills
well developed communication and internal/external stakeholder engagement skills
technical proficiency in safety and the functional principles of safety
have a high attention to detail.
ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
capability to develop specifications, standards, procedures and associated documentation.
experience in delivering projects in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
conscientious and ambitious Additionally advantageous but not essential:
experience in robotic palletising/depalletising systems and/or AGV/AMRs
experience in vision based solutions and/or implementing SCADA systems
