Unit Description:
RMH-Pain Management Services is a cross campus, cross division model for the provision of care to patients suffering pain.
We offer comprehensive training programs for fellows in a department providing a clinical service for all aspect of adult pain medicine.
The program focuses on comprehensive, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary pain medicine in acute, subacute and chronic pain.
Fellows participate in medical (including subspecialty clinics in Aged; Interventional; Rehabilitation Pain), interventional, physical and psychological aspects of pain management.
With close collaborative arrangement with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, trainees will also be exposed to focused cancer-related pain management experiences.
The service has developed a strong liaison role with affiliated services, departments and institutions; namely Neurosurgery, Radiology, Liaison psychiatry, Allied Health, Palliative Care, Addiction Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine.
About the role: Participate in patient care, teaching and the research focus of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management which provides a 24-hour perioperative service encompassing:
Intraoperative anaesthesia and physiologic monitoring
Anaesthesia for areas outside of the operating suite
Allergy testing for anaesthesia drugs

About You:
Registered as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Fellowship of ANZCA
Completion of Faculty of Pain Medicine examination (FPM)
Completion of at least 12 months of accredited Faculty of Pain Medicine training.
Demonstrated sound academic record and good clinical performance.
Demonstrated professional expertise in Anaesthesia & Pain Management Services, including good clinical skills, appropriate management skills, an ability to cope with stress, and high motivation.
Demonstrated commitment to a patient focused service and contemporary quality assurance
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
Demonstrated professional and ethical behaviour in accordance with MH organisational values and behaviours
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate positively and appropriately with patients and others
Proven ability to contribute effectively as a participative and supportive team member
