Support Young Australians in Education and Development
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer tutor to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of young people.
About Learning Clubs
Learning Clubs provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment for students to participate in educational activities or receive help with their schoolwork from experienced tutors. This unique opportunity allows volunteers to support young people experiencing poverty and help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist students in completing homework tasks and developing skills and knowledge in various subject areas through structured activities.
* Model and encourage appropriate behavioural standards and build positive relationships with students.
* Liaise with the Club Coordinator on students' support needs and progress.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and positive attitude, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You should also be able to commit to a regular schedule and maintain confidentiality.
Benefits
As a volunteer tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people while gaining valuable experience and skills. We offer a supportive and inclusive environment where you can develop your passion for education and social development.
Commitment
We seek a volunteer commitment of 1-2 hours per week for a minimum of two school terms (approximately 18 weeks). Clubs typically run just after school finishes on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
If you have a passion for supporting young Australians in their academic and social development, we would love to hear from you.
