Manager - Reserach and Development Tax
The opportunity
As a Manager - Research and Development Tax you will play a key role in client Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive claims, which are jointly administered by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and Department of Industry, Science and Resources (AusIndustry), as a trusted advisor. This will involve preparing and reviewing R&D project descriptions and R&D expenditure calculations as well as managing all aspects of R&D Tax Incentive claim processes, from preparation, review and lodgement, for start-up to large private and public multi-nationals across diverse industries.
This is a hybrid position based in Brisbane or Adelaide. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Assist clients with identifying and accessing other State and Federal grants and incentives.
* Assist with strategic planning and preparing applications, business cases, budgets and other supporting documentation for competitive grant programs.
What We Look For
* Experience with R&D Tax Incentive program (minimum 4 years’ experience)
* Experience in dealing with technical challenges faced by industry professionals, such as engineering design, the development or improvement of manufacturing processes, development of new products and improvement to existing products.
* Business acumen and relevant commercial exposure in terms of understanding the marketability of new products and processes.
Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
* Leadership skills and ambitions, and experience with or ambition to delegate, coach, and mentor junior team members
* Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
* A collaborative working style with excellent communication and presentational skills (both oral and written)
* Self-motivated, pro-active, innovative, and enthusiastic.
