Join Our Team as a Surgical Associate Nurse Unit Manager with YNLHN
Are you a skilled and experienced nurse or midwife ready to take on a leadership role in surgical care? Join YNLHN as a Surgical Associate Nurse Unit Manager and provide expert guidance to nursing teams while supporting high-quality, patient‑centred care in our surgical wards. Key Responsibilities
* Provide proficient nursing/midwifery care and support continuity of care across the surgical unit.
* Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager with implementing practice changes and improving service delivery.
* Support team leadership, including supervision, mentoring, and development of staff and students.
* Contribute to operational management, including rostering, work allocation, performance management, and resource planning.
* Utilise clinical expertise to assess undiagnosed patients and inform effective care plans.
* Apply and maintain knowledge of relevant computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sunrise.
What We're Looking For
* Motivated, experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post‑registration experience (or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife).
* Advanced clinical assessment skills, experience supervising staff and students, and the ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
* Strong organisational, communication and computer skills essential, along with a commitment to high‑quality patient care and continuous professional development.
* Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate.
