Job Title: IT Operations Specialist
Description:
Betashares, a leading Australian financial services brand and market leader in the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry, is seeking an experienced IT Operations Specialist to support and scale its systems and workflows.
This role requires collaboration with various departments, including investment operations, technology, compliance, and product functions, to deliver scalable, robust solutions for both listed and unlisted fund models.
Responsibilities:
* Optimise the performance of existing automated processes, applying knowledge of financial or investment operations to identify key areas for improvement.
* Identify automation opportunities and implement efficient solutions to reduce manual effort and improve process reliability.
* Design, build, and test new tools to support future product offerings.
* Ensure all operations tools are well documented from a technical engineering standpoint.
* Analyse operational issues related to engineering solutions, leveraging industry knowledge to quickly pinpoint challenges.
* Integrate APIs from data providers, custodians, fund administrators, and other external services.
* Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure new tools and systems meet internal standards for quality, security, and performance.
Requirements:
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
* 2 years of experience in process Improvement engineering role or similar, ideally with exposure to automation or intelligent systems.
* Proficiency in Python & SQL with an understanding of how these apply to data-driven solutions.
* Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in finding answers to new questions.
* Experience working in the financial services would be beneficial.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team, demonstrating strong time management and stakeholder expectations.
* Comfortable working cross-functionally with non-technical stakeholders and supporting production workflows.
* Experience in AWS, CICD, Docker, and Temporal.io would be advantageous.
* Excellent stakeholder management and time management skills.
