Primary objective
Provide day to day management of fleet services to clients in the Central Australia region aligned to departmental processes and
procedures, including supervising a small team to ensure continuity of services are delivered in the region.
Context statement
NT Fleet manages the light and heavy fleet for most government agencies and is responsible for the management, purchase,
disposal and maintenance of the fleet. Vehicles are leased to government agencies at commercial rates with a key focus on
providing low cost, fit for purpose vehicles which meet operational needs.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide accurate advice to the Fleet Operations Manager on a range of matters related to the effective and efficient provision
of fleet services in the Central Australia region.
2. Ensure an efficient and cost-effective schedule for the servicing and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles in accordance
with manufacturer's guidelines and NT Fleet policies.
3. Arrange service appointments, raise and issue Fleet Service Orders and other necessary documentation for vehicle servicing,
accident, and minor repairs to all light and heavy vehicles including plant and equipment.
4. Maintain and monitor information within the Fleet Business System (FBS) ensuring costs of all repairs and maintenance of fleet
vehicles are maintained in accordance with internal procedures, including trimming documents.
1. Arrange for the recall, inspection and repair of motor vehicles when advised by the Service Supervisor (Darwin) of defects or
recall campaigns.
6. Collate, check and forward servicing invoices for further finance processing requirements, on a regular basis, including the
matching with Fleet Service Orders for updating FBS as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to support a culture of achievement through constructive supervisory practices.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of motor vehicle servicing requirements, including specific features and fitted optional equipment
with proven experience managing large fleet operations, with a track record of overseeing servicing and routine maintenance
schedules and conducting accurate accident repair assessments.
1. Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills, demonstrated through successful collaboration with stakeholders to
deliver agreed outcomes and resolve complex issues, with well-developed written communication skills.
1. Sound working knowledge of office-based computing applications including information and record management systems.
2. Demonstrated commitment to achieving quality outcomes, agreed priorities, and adapting to change.
3. Current NT "C Class" driver's license or equivalent.
4. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulate DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality, diversity, and respect.
