Conference & Events Coordinator
About the Role
We are seeking a commercially focused Conference & Events Coordinator to join our team. This is not just an operational role — it's a sales and business development position with accountability for revenue growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business, converting leads, and growing event revenue while ensuring every event is executed flawlessly.
The ideal candidate will be a confident sales professional with proven success in meeting targets, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to translate client needs into profitable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development, Sales & Commercial Performance
* Proactively source, secure, and convert new business opportunities across weddings, private functions, and corporate events.
* Build a strong sales pipeline through networking, outbound sales calls, client meetings, and industry engagement.
* Negotiate contracts and proposals that maximise profitability while meeting client expectations.
* Drive revenue performance, consistently achieving and reporting on KPI and sales targets.
* Develop strategies to increase market share, repeat business, and referral opportunities.
Event Planning & Coordination
* Translate client requirements into detailed proposals, run sheets, and event plans.
* Host client site visits, presenting tailored packages and upsell opportunities.
* Act as the key point of contact on event days, ensuring smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Kitchen, F&B, Front Office) and external suppliers (AV, florists, musicians, stylists) to deliver seamless events.
Client Experience & Relationship Management
* Deliver exceptional service and communication from first inquiry through to post-event follow-up.
* Build and maintain long-term client relationships to encourage repeat bookings.
* Identify upselling opportunities and actively cross-sell accommodation, F&B, and additional services.
Operational Support
* Oversee event set-up, execution, and pack-down, ensuring venues are presented at the highest standard.
* Monitor event budgets and ensure cost control while delivering premium client experiences.

Skills & Attributes
* Strong business development and sales capability, with a proven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets.
* Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
* Commercial acumen with an understanding of event profitability and ROI.
* Strong organisational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
* Proficiency with event management software (IVvy preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in event coordination, sales, or business development within hotels, resorts, or event venues.
* Knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality service standards.
* Current QLD RSA certification, RMLV is preferred
* Valid driver's licence.
