About the Opportunity

Join our team at Murray River Council as a Business Unit Support Officer and play a key role in supporting the Water and Sewer Department. You will provide a high standard of administrative support, coordinating meetings, managing phone calls, handling document management, and purchasing.

This role also involves collecting, collating, and maintaining essential data, delivering high-level customer service to residents and contractors, and working with team members to improve business unit efficiency.

Ideal Candidate profile

We are seeking a professional, organised and proactive individual who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys supporting a team to deliver exceptional service.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

· Strong administrative skills with experience in a similar business support role.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage confidently with internal teams, customers, and contractors.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness to learn new systems.

· Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.

· Attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy in data management and reporting.

· A customer-focused mindset, ensuring all enquiries are managed promptly and professionally

· Current Driver's Licence

· National Police Check

Desirable

· Certificate III in Business Administration

· Knowledge of various software programs including TechOne, Trim, CM9, and mapping databases.

· Experience in a similar role within Local Government
