Safcol Australia and the South Australian Gourmet Food Company are leading manufacturers and marketers of quality food products. Our Elizabeth production facility produces a wide range of pouched stocks, soups, sauces, and baby food, alongside canned products, distributed Australia-wide. We also import and distribute a range of seafood and petfood products across multiple brands to the Australian grocery & retail sector. Proudly, we are still running the only Adelaide fish market since the late 1940s.
As our Management Accountant, you'll play a vital role in delivering financial metrics for strategic decision, providing key financial insights to Business Unit leaders, whilst ensuring compliance and control in accordance with Accounting Standards. Reporting direct to the Chief Financial Officer with cross functional engagement with all Key Stakeholders, you'll be the go-to person for Financial Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
* Management Accounting / P&L Reporting: Lead month-end closures for business units with precision and timeliness.
* Compliance & Control: Ensure provisions and accruals align with accounting standards and maintain reconciliations to mitigate financial risk.
* Financial Insights & Costing: Deliver actionable insights, support product costing, production cost analysis, and pricing decisions.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and consolidate annual budgets and ad hoc forecasts.
* Team Leadership: Inspire and guide the team to adopt best practices and continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience in Accounting and Finance with strong business acumen.
* Proven experience in an influential role within a manufacturing and / or FMCG environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset with a methodical approach and attention to detail.
* Working knowledge of Pronto Xi ERP software advantageous, proficient in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel skills as well as industry standard reporting tools.
* Hands on approach and not afraid to chip in when needed.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
