*The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist - Senior (Older Persons Mental Health Community) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Deliver high level clinical services in accordance with professional standards including the Australia Psychologist Society Code of Ethics
Provide high level clinical psychology services including psychological assessment, complex case formulation, and clinical interventions that support in the care of case managed consumers
Manage a case load of consumers to access outpatient psychotherapy or other psychological care including consultancy service for treating teams relating to older people with challenging behaviours
Utilise independent clinical reasoning and professional judgement requiring minimum supervision in the selection of appropriate psychological treatments, psychometric measures and preparation of psychological reports and high-level recommendation.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
A tertiary degree in Psychology
AHPRA Registration
Driver Licence
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Mental Health and Specialist Services provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented
The Older Persons Mental Health Community Team service provides specialised, community-based multi-disciplinary services, including mental health assessment and treatment, for adults over the age of 65 years (>55 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Persons) who have a severe and complex mental illness, which is complicated by problems related to ageing.
