Overview
Head of Department (Curriculum) - Ama Mary Eseli Injinoo Campus, Northern Peninsula Area State College. This temporary role (notionally until the end of Term 4, 2026) with a negotiable start date offers the opportunity to influence curriculum leadership in a remote community school. The position is accountable to the College Principal or delegate, and works with the Head of Campus.
About The Partnership Initiative
This role supports the Department of Education's Equity and Excellence Strategy through the Partnership Initiative, a project piloting the delivery of tailored and differentiated support to 42 regional, rural, and remote Queensland schools. The initiative aims to enable participating schools to collaborate with community partners and government agencies to deliver locally responsive and integrated strategies. The initiative is grounded in a place-based approach, drawing from evidence that outcomes for children, students, families, and communities improve when services and supports are integrated across government, industry, and local communities. It also supports the involvement of First Nations communities in decision-making to enhance learning and life outcomes for young Indigenous Australians.
About Northern Peninsula Area College
Northern Peninsular Area State College is situated on the tip of Cape York Peninsula. The College (NPASC) is a K-12 College with 3 campuses. Ama Mary Eseli Injinoo and Bamaga Primary Campuses have Kindy to Year 6, while Year 7 - 12 secondary student needs are met by the Senior Campus in Bamaga. All campuses are managed by a Head of Campus, with the College Principal overseeing strategic direction.
