About the role
HEAD CHEF
Fulltime
Colac Area Health is a values-based organisation providing a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services.
The role of the Head Chef is to manage the Food Services function at Colac Area Health.
What's required?
Essential
* Trade Qualification, Certificate of Cooking or equivalent. (minimum Cert III in Commercial Cooking).
* Demonstrated experience in a health or commercial setting including bulk cooking or a similar role.
* Have a well-developed understanding of the concepts of nutrition, cooking with consideration of special dietary requirements, food related allergies and intolerances.
* Ability to lead and manage an efficient team with an ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.
* Have well developed communication and interpersonal skills with strong problem solving focus.
* Strong customer service ethic with a patient centre approach.
* Demonstrate an ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with periodic demands.
Desirable
* Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to undertake.
* Infection Control Training or willingness to undertake.
* A high level of computer literacy with an understanding of computer based stock management systems.
* Experience in Electronic Menu systems.
