Young People Support Worker

The Opportunity
Our organisation has an exciting opportunity for two Part-Time Young People Support Workers to join the team. The role will be based from Maroochydore, supporting the Sunshine Coast region.
The programme provides early intervention pathways and delivers case management support to young people aged 8 to 21 years, who are engaged in high-risk behaviours, and are disconnected from family, education and/or their community.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work independently under the direction of a Team Leader and within the team to engage young people in a safe and therapeutic environment
* Engage with and offer information, referral, and case management to young people whose lifestyle, behaviour, and/or choices place them at high risk
* Work with key stakeholders, including other service providers, police, and youth justice to provide coordinated responses to the needs of young people
* Advocate on behalf of individuals to ensure that services accessed and provided are relevant, flexible, and accessible
* Complete administrative duties, case notes, timesheets, and incident reports in line with legislative and contract requirements
* Professional experience working with vulnerable or at-risk young people
* Minimum qualification of Certificate IV in a relevant field desired
* Knowledge of trauma-based behaviour and the factors which may contribute to young people offending or engaging in high-risk behaviours
* Experience working with young people in an outreach model would be well regarded
Must Hold or Be Willing to Obtain if Successful:
* Valid Queensland driver's license with no restrictions and own fully insured vehicle
* QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
* Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
* National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through our systems)
