about the role
Due to an internal promotion, Chevron Australia Downstream (CAD) has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Category Manager to join the Merchandising team. Reporting to the Merchandise Manager, this permanent role will be based in Hamilton, Brisbane.
As we look to continually develop our existing Company Operated, Caltex Star Mart network, we are seeking someone with a passion for Retailing and can hit the ground running. You will be able to identify and understand our customers needs, deliver value to them whilst delivering profitable growth to the network.- Developing category plans and strategies resulting in performance improvement- Deliver sales and volume growth based on market analysis and trends- Building and maintaining effective supplier relationships- Negotiating mutually agreeable terms- Space management- Continuously challenging and improving the company's current in store offer- Creating efficiencies- Special projects

Knowledge, skills, and experience: 
- At least 5+ years solid experience of category management within the Petrol and Convenience or FMCG channels- Capability to manage and adapt multiple projects or tasks in a fast paced and ever-changing environment- Highly competent in problem solving and critical thinking- Solid experience in internal and external stakeholder and supplier management- Robust negotiation skills, financial and business acumen- Good team player and strong drive for performance and results- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills- Strong analytical and project management skills
