Key Activities
Opening and closing the Museum in line with procedures and protocols.
Greeting visitors and providing comprehensive information covering the history of the Museum and Nobelius Heritage Park, current exhibitions and displays, and upcoming events.
Collecting visitor data through postcode surveys and feedback forms.
Taking cash and EFTPOS payments for donations and merchandise.
Supervising visitor engagement in the Museum and maintaining awareness to protect the safety of visitors, staff and volunteers, as well as the integrity of artefacts.
Replenishing brochures, pamphlets and merchandise as needed.
Complying with all occupational health and safety practices and procedures at the Museum.
Opportunity to support the Museum in other activities outside of regular volunteering hours, including programming, research and exhibition installation, is optional.
About You
A keen interest in engaging the public.
Friendly and approachable manner with strong communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds.
A valid Volunteer Working With Children Check, or ability to obtain one.
A National Police Check, or ability to obtain one.

Commitment: 1 x Sunday every 4-6 week, 12pm - 4pm, for a minimum of 6 months. Also weekday opportunities available.
Training
As a Front-of-House volunteer at Emerald Museum you will be introduced to the fundamentals of Museum operations and audience engagement. You'll also finesse your communication and interpersonal skills, as well as develop a commitment to service excellence.
