PURPOSE OF JOB
The Procurement Manager is responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business, which, through effective relationship and performance management, maximise value and minimise risk.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Support the creation of sourcing strategies by partnering with strategic and category management teams.
* Manage the supply chain components of bids, ensuring contractual compliance with customer specifications.
* Oversee supplier evaluations and deliver data-driven sourcing recommendations.
* Foster strong stakeholder and supplier relationships through consistent, coordinated communication.
* Negotiate and execute supplier agreements in line with corporate governance and authority limits.
* Monitor and manage risks and opportunities within the tiered supply chain.
* Promote the adoption of best practices and lessons learned across the team.
KEY CRITERIA
* Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
* Previous experience leading and mentoring a team.
* Strong background in procurement or supply chain in defence.
* Skilled in negotiating complex contracts, specifically those governing engineering design and technical specifications.
* Adept at building and sustaining high-level relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
