The Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you'll:
* Utilise survey equipment and best practices to generate accurate data in a timely manner
* Maintain and calibrate all survey instruments to required standards
* Assist in the creation of mine plans and regulatory submissions
* Conduct development mark‑ups, pickups, and maintain accurate as‑built models
* Perform CMS, aerial, and surface surveys as required
* Install survey stations for directional control and ensure mine designs are set out precisely
* Produce survey plans, memos, and reports to a high standard and on time
* Ensure emergency plans are up to date and accessible
* Collaborate with geology, planning, and engineering to support safe and efficient operations
Duties & Responsibilities
* Generate accurate survey data using appropriate technology and methods
* Carry out development and diamond‑drilling mark‑ups
* Maintain survey control networks and equipment calibration
* Perform CMS and end‑of‑month surveys
* Assist with mine‑plan creation, regulatory submissions, and aerial/surface survey work
* Ensure compliance with company standards and statutory requirements
Your Value
* A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying (or equivalent)
* Experience in mechanised hard‑rock mining – underground preferred, though open‑cut surveyors with the right attitude and eagerness to transition will also be considered
* Strong capability in Deswik CAD or Deswik Survey software, or similar mine‑design tools – highly regarded
* Excellent numeracy, spatial data, and problem‑solving skills
* A collaborative, forward‑thinking mindset that aligns with the company's values of innovation, inclusivity, and safety excellence
