Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate team member to join our team supporting patient care by transporting patients and items throughout the hospital and assisting within clinical settings. This role involves helping patients move safely between beds, chairs, and transport vehicles, including transfers to other facilities or home. You'll also assist with basic patient care tasks such as bathing, preoperative preparation, and general ward support. Responsibilities include maintaining linen supplies, handling medical gases, cleaning equipment and patient areas, and preparing patients for procedures in collaboration with clinical staff. A strong commitment to infection control, hygiene, and excellent customer service is essential.

What you will bring to the role

* Demonstrate experience in cleaning practices and systems, within a health care setting or similar environment
* Able to meet the physical demands of the position as listed in the physical requirements in the position description.
* Able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of Work Health & Safety. Ability to interpret and follow Material Safety Data sheets (MSD's), Safe Work Practices sheets (SWP's) and written instructions.
* Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purposes across the LHD.
* Previous experience as a Wardsperson is not essential, however would be advantageous.
* Previous experience in the care of patients / clients.
* Good verbal and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work Mornings, Evenings & Night duty shifts, across a 7 day week roster

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
